Less of a spaghetti and more of a lasagna western: layered, filling, and dripping with red sauce. Structured as a scavenger hunt of bloody revenge, this is one of the matches Kill Bill would get if it did 23andme (the complete wholesale lift of the fantastic Morricone score doesn’t help either). It features two barely likable heroes—John Phillip Law (aka the beefcake angel in Barbarella) and Bad himself, Lee Van Cleef, his face as craggy as the landscapes across which he trots his mount. If you’re a fan of Italian horsey movies and this isn’t already a notch on your saddle, you’re looking at forty lashes less one.
